Gregorio Samuel Ojeda

d. February 2, 2016

Gregorio Samuel Ojeda, age 96, was called home by Jesus on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. He entered this world on November 17, 1919 in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a beloved grandfather and uncle to four generations under him. He is survived by his granddaughter Raquel Solis and great-granddaughters Andrea Kexel and Christina Solis-Montoya; great-great grandchildren Jace and Reece Kexel (along with other nieces, nephews and cousins.) He was preceded in death by his wife Maria Ojeda of 53 years in 2001, his daughter Rosario Solis-Regalado and grandson Carlos Solis. When he was younger he was a professor of Physical Education in Mexico and then learned the trade of tailoring. In 1965 he began working as a tailor in El Paso, TX and then moved with his wife Maria to Albuquerque, NM where he spent the rest of his days. They became United States citizens in 1969. He worked at Sears Department Store as a tailor for 28 years and then retired to run his own home-based tailor shop for another 12 years. He truly loved his work. Gregorio also had a deep knowledge of Mexican history and loved to have those discussions. He passed away peacefully and he will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
