Grace Jean Henderson went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2014. She was a devoted wife, a fantastic mother, and a friend to many in Albuquerque and beyond. Her husband, James Taylor Henderson; and her parents, Burt and Jean Stringer, preceded her in death. She is survived by her three sons and their wives; Christopher and Teri and their son, Jeremy, Kevin and Brawna and their daughter, Brynn and son, Kerrick, and son, Kyle and Heather and their son, Dallas and daughters, Hollyn, Karyss and Annalyn. Her sisters, Joyce Powers, Sue Hancock and Lois Cook also survive her. Grace, known to her friends as Gay, went to school at Highland High School and graduated from the University of New Mexico. She worked for the Office of Senior Affairs in Albuquerque as an activities director for several senior centers. Prior to that, she worked for several retirement centers as an activities director. Gay was an active member of Hoffmantown church and took every opportunity to share her faith in the Lord and share the gospel. The family will hold a memorial service for her on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Hoffmantown church, 8888 Harper Dr. NE, Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family request donations be made to Eagle's Wings Youth Ranch, P.O. Box 465, Mountainair, NM 87036, a ministry that Grace and James supported for many years.
