Gloria Potts

Gloria Althea Potts passed away peacefully on Dec 16th, 2024. Born on Nov 18, 1936 to Alice Wright Stanley and CR Stanley. She met her future husband, Clair George Potts, on the school bus in Woodsfield, Ohio. They were married on Oct 10, 1954 and started their Air Force life in Hawaii. Other base locations were Pennsylvania, Alabama, Japan, Albuquerque and Puerto Rico. Retiring from active duty, they returned to settle in Albuquerque with their children Robyn Lynn, Leslie Rae and Eric Shawn. Heavily involved in First Baptist Church, Gloria sang in the Adult Choir, played hand bells, taught children's Sunday School and led the Preschool Choir. Recently she helped with the Admin for children's Sunday School and played the piano for the Senior Adult Choir. She enjoyed outings with the Senior Adult group, traveling to different states and even Canada. Gloria was proceeded in death by her husband Clair, her granddaughter Brittany and recently her daughter Robyn. She leaves behind her brother Roger (Donna) in NC, daughter Leslie in Australia, son Eric (Kathy) in Arizona and son-in-law Randy Kelley in Arkansas, plus grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous friends. 

The service will be at Albuquerque's First Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 10 am. A viewing will begin at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to First Baptist Church on 4101 Paseo Del Norte NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114.
