Glenna M. Lafond, age 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; and her son, Peter. Glenna is survived by her three daughters, Constance Statham and husband, Donald of Birmingham, AL, Katherine Lafond of Albuquerque, NM, and Cynthia Fernandez and husband, Albert of Albuquerque, NM; daughter-in-law, Laura Lafond of Albuquerque; sons, Chip Lafond and wife, Charlotte of Tucumcari, NM and Jeff Lafond and Debra Yeaman of Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was born in 1923 in Nadeau, MI and moved from Loves Park, IL to Albuquerque in 1957. Glenna retired from the V.A. Medical Center after 30 years of service as a R.N. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be Tuesday, February 7, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at Risen Savior Catholic Community,7701 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Interment will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery where she will be buried with her husband, Howard R. Lafond. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Glenna's name to the American Heart Association, 2201 San Pedro Dr. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
