Our beloved mom, Glena Dene Higginbotham, went to be with the Lord December 21, 2014. She was born in Rosehill, TX in 1922, but lived most of her life in New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband, Ewell and her eldest daughter, Carolyn Cleveland. She is survived by daughters, Gloria Gooch, Kathryn Higginbotham, Sue Bercovitch and Ellen Gilbert (Joseph); her sister, Jean Morgan; sister-in-law, Selma Higginbotham; Texas nephews Bub and Dale Hill; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was a devoted homemaker, mother, "Mamaw," and great-grandma. She shared in the care and raising of her grand and great-grandchildren. She and Ewell, along with a wonderful group of friends and relatives, traveled around the world in the seventies and eighties. She had many close friends, most of whom she knew her entire life. Luckily she had unlimited long distance because she loved to keep in touch with her Texas friends and relatives on a regular basis. Glena's family would like to thank Nicolle, Yuri, Gina, Jane, Sophia, and Nancy for their dedicated and loving care of mom. Thanks also to everyone associated with Heritage Home Healthcare and Hospice for your patience and help. She will be honored at a funeral service on Saturday, December 27, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel located at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Mexico Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at 4600 Montgomery Blvd, Suite 201 or at LLS.org.
