Gladys “Mag” Ribble, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 13 years, passed away on September 11, 2017, after a long, fulfilled life which was characterized by a commitment to family and community, a respect for others, and a strong moral compass, all values which were passed on to her three children. She gave much to others and received their love and support in return.
Mag was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Wayne “Al” Ribble, who passed away in 2011. During the course of their marriage Mag and Al, prior to moving to Albuquerque, lived in many different parts of the country, most recently in San Diego, CA. The foundation of their strong, traditional marriage was love for each other and their children.
Outside of family responsibilities, Mag volunteered for numerous community organizations. She also enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid, excellent golfer who achieved five holes in one during her years of play, the final one made at the age of 85 at the Chamisa Hills Country Club in Rio Rancho.
Mag is survived by her daughter, Sandra Harsha and husband, David of Des Moines, IA; her sons, Dan and wife, Lynn (Hadley) of Albuquerque, and Kevin and wife, Donna (Catteron) of Dallas, TX; and four grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly and will miss her forever.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff from Home Instead Senior Care, North Ridge Alzheimer’s Special Care Center and Kindred Hospice who supported our needs and provided compassionate care in a pleasant, safe environment.
