DAVIS-KNAPP, GLADYS ISABELLEJuly 12, 1915 - Sept. 8, 2012Gladys was born in Fort Scott, KS. She graduated in 1936, then worked at Bourbon County Court House sharing her wages with her widowed mother until she married Homer Scott Knapp of Moran, KS. They were blessed with two children, Ronald Scott in 1943 and Carolyn Sue in 1946. Gladys called Albuquerque, NM HOME from 1948 forward. She often shared stories of her life experiences and kept her audience in awe. Gladys was affectionately called "Serge" for she always wanted to be in charge. Her claim to fame was her full head of hair and sharp mind! Gladys took pride in her role as the Ticket Lady for 49 years at the New Mexico State Fair, who was always on the money. She was passionate in her role as a citizen, rarely missed the daily news or an election. Gladys served on Jury duty up until 2008. She loved and took pride in the live's of her siblings, children, grand and great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins who made up her extended family. Gladys loved the Lord and the fellowship at Temple Baptist Church. She loved music and the music club where she bonded with friends and enriched her life. Many of her family and friends have preceded Gladys in death. She is survived by one sibling, Nathaniel Joseph Davis of Marble Falls TX; son, Ronald Scott Knapp of Pearland TX; grandchildren, Daryl Hooper and Laura Mathews of Albuquerque, Tiffany Waldron, Amy Levier, John Graf and Mike Graf of the Houston area. Services to be held Saturday, September 15, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Friends may visit one hour prior to service. We welcome all who knew her. Life is but changed not taken away and your gentle touch remains upon the Hearts of those who loved you best. REST IN PEACE!
