Gilbert Parro

Gilbert C. Parro went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. He was devoted to and loved his family. He is survived by his son, Steven Parro and wife, Jeaneene; his daughter, Lisa Medina and husband, Ruben; grandchildren, Jordan Parro and wife, Sarah, Sarah Rock and husband, Justin, Connor Parro, Aaron Medina; and many other family and friends. Gilbert was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, the former Lois Jean Purnell of Dolton IL; his parents, Pasquale and Rose Parro; his siblings, Herbert Parro, Victor Parro and Gertrude Jankus. Gilbert was born in Illinois, and after service as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict, he met and married Lois in 1953. They made their home in Naperville, IL relocating to Albuquerque, NM in 1979 for health reasons. Gilbert worked for the federal government as an Air Traffic Controller until his retirement in 1993 completing over 43 years of federal service. Burial for Gilbert will be Tuesday, November 10, 2015, 11:15 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
