Gertrude Stephens

GERTRUDE B. STEPHENS1922-2012 Age 90, a retiree of Sandia National Labs, passed away peacefully on Sunday July 8, 2012 surrounded by family and friends. Gertrude was kind, caring and generous to everyone who knew her; she was lovingly known to many as GG. She enjoyed shopping and collecting turquoise jewelry. She also enjoyed reading mysteries' and eating at Milly's Restaurant after having her hair done on Fridays. Her husband, Lewis A. Stephens, preceded Gertrude in death. She is survived by her adoptive family, Dolores, Rob Jordan and children, Melissa, Mike, and Frankie of Albuquerque; nephew, Dave Stephens and wife, Kim of Albuquerque; nieces Nancy Thoen and partner Maggie Morris of Idaho; and Carol Jean Sager of California; and many great nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks and appreciation to her caregivers and neighbors. Their help and support allowed her to stay in her home until the end. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 20, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you remember GG in your prayers and your lives.
