Gerlie Abinal-Gates

Gerlie Abinal-Gates was born on April 19, 1979 in Nabua, Camarines Sur. She passed away on December 13, 2023 after fighting with cancer for the last 7 months. Gerlie was only 44 years of age.

Gerlie is survived by her husband, Mark Gates; her mother-in-law, Judy; her parents, Elsa And Josue Abinal; her brother, Darrel and Ram; her sisters, Marydith, Maricel, Hazel; her 3 dogs, Benny, Obe, Bella; and many loyal friends and co-workers and extended family members.

Gerlie had a remarkable life, she was a woman of humble beginnings, she loved to share her journey with friends and always related to everyone's life back home. Gerlie graduated High School at Nabua National High School in 1996 and completed secretarial course at CSPC Camarines Sur Polytechnic College. Before moving to the U.S. Gerlie worked in Dubai and Singapore. She moved and worked in Washington State in 2006. She got married to Mark on July 23, 2010 in Albuquerque. Albuquerque had been Gerlie's home for the last 14 years and she gained great friends throughout the years.

Gerlie joined the Ideal Vacuum Company in March 2012 and has done a lot of business like catering and online selling. People know her of remarkable character. She was very hardworking and she had a special ability to make every person feel seen, heard, and valued.

A memorial for Gerlie will be held on Dec 26, 2023 at 11:00 am at the French - Westside Chapel at 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW with a reception to follow.
