Age 92, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away November 19, 2012. She is survived by her daughters, Renée Raigoza Wolff and husband, William, and Michelle Raigoza Welby and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Michael Philip Moore, Justin Thomas Welby, Erin Welby Bevins and Allison Welby Sadler; her sister, Anne Kelsey, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents, Benjamin Thomas and Alice Eleanor Juden, both of whom died when she was a very young child; her sister, Lucille Gentry, and her husband of 57 years, Colonel Juan Raigoza. Geraldine was born on June 22, 1920 in Blytheville, Arkansas, grew up in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and was a descendent of those who served in the American Revolution. At 27, she joined the United States Civil Service where her duties took her to Frankfurt, Germany after WWII. There she met the love of her life, Juan Raigoza, who was serving as Provost Marshall in Gelnhauson, Germany in the U.S. Army. During the many years of their marriage she enjoyed traveling and setting up home in many duty stations within the U.S. and Central America. Their last military move brought them to Albuquerque in 1959. Geraldine rejoined Civil Service where she was employed with Kirtland Air Force Base until her retirement in 1984. She was an avid reader, loved to dance and play bridge, and especially enjoyed writing poetry some of which was published. She had a good sense of humor and generous spirit. Geraldine lived some of her final years with her daughter, Michelle, and much loved son-in-law, Jim Welby. Geraldine was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was generous and kind to her family, co-workers and friends. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
