Geraldine Herrera

Geraldine Herrera, age 77, our beloved mother, sister, cousin, and mother-in-law passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. Geri was born in the mountain village of Vallecitos in Northern New Mexico to Elijio and Estefanita De Vargas in 1945.

She attended Espanola High School and graduated from St. Mary's High School (Albuquerque) in 1964. Geri worked for the Albuquerque Public Schools as a secretary for over 20 years, from where she retired.

Her sons, Peter and Matthew Herrera; and her grandchildren, Josh and Kaila; their mother, Paige, will miss Geri's (grandma's) caring and constant love. Geri was a friend to many and was known for her hospitality, empathy, and ability to bring people together. Geri's friends in Albuquerque and other states, as well as other countries will miss her graciousness and compassion. Our mother loved being in her garden, her favorite books, her dog Hugo, and baking. Most of all she loved the people in her life that she believed were life's greatest gift.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., FRENCH – Wyoming.
