He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Kelly Mora, to whom he was married for 57 years; his daughter Elizabeth Allan and grandson Gabriel Allan; his daughter Marie Mora and son-in-law Alberto Dávila; and son Anthony Mora. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Esequiel (“E. Kelly”) and Livia Mora, sisters Nancy and Eleanor, and his brother Kelly.

Gerald was born in Raton, New Mexico, and spent the first six years of his life in the coal-mining town of Dawson before his family moved to Raton where he completed his schooling up through high school. Gerald graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics after having served our country in Vietnam while in the United States Navy.

Through his work, Gerald impacted countless elementary school children across the state of New Mexico in the 1990s and 2000s, including through the “Marsville” program when he served as Director of New Mexico Tech's Technology Transfer Support Group and the State of New Mexico Partnership Intermediary for the Air Force Research Laboratory at Kirtland Air Force Base. His honors and recognitions included the 2001 New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Award for his development and implementation of Kirtland’s La Luz Academy program. Gerald was also an entrepreneur.

An active member in the Catholic Church, Gerald frequently served as a reader at San Francisco de Asis in Golden, NM. Twice he and his wife served as mayordomos: at San Antonito Catholic Church in San Antonito, NM, and San Antonio Catholic Mission Church in Cedar Crest, NM.

Among his hobbies were woodworking, including carving santos and making furniture, fly fishing, barbecuing, and doing sudoku.

Gerald will be remembered fondly by his family and friends. Those he helped throughout his life will be forever moved by his generosity and spirit.
