Gerald W. “Jerry” Cox passed away at the age 69, he was a loving husband, father, and brother. He was a graduate of Oklahoma University and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a copy editor of the Albuquerque Tribune. Jerry was known for his intellect, perseverance, sense of humor--sometimes wry, sometimes comedic--and most of all his humanity and character.
He is survived by loving wife, Magda Rodriguez; daughter, Vanesa Cox-Tristani; grandson, Javier Nunez; sister, Susan Wright; sister and brother- in-law, Annie and Gary McCollim; sister-in-law, Rhodi Cox; and his loving dog, Abby. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna Cox; brother, David Cox; and brother-in-law, Gene Wright.
There will be a Remembrance of his Life Monday, January 8, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH – University. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, January 12, 2018, 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande, 5901 St. Josephs Dr. NW. Memorial contributions may be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind, guidedogs.com.
