George Harold Wich, born Friday, January 17, 1919, in Chicago passed away Friday, November 29, 2019. A positive attitude until the end, he tried to make it to 101 and just missed it by 49 days. George was an Albuquerque resident and business owner since 1945. Married to Betty for 41 years she predeceased him in 1986. He always felt he was lucky and blessed to find Margaret, whom he was married to for over 30 years until she predeceased him in 2018; he always considered her extended family as his own. George is survived by daughter, Judy Hall and husband Larry from Prescott, Arizona, and grandsons, Scott and David; also daughter, Cathy Parry and husband Mike from Albuquerque, New Mexico; his younger sibling is sister, Rose Therese, who resides at the Sisters of Charity Mother House in Cincinnati, Ohio. Also nephew, John Wich and wife Dottie and son Michael; and Jim Wich, all of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
After serving his country in the Army Air Corps George was in sales and finance, still doing bookkeeping and tax preparation until age 90. He loved to build and fix things and enjoyed many years at the cabin in the Manzano mountains. George has always had a positive attitude and was thankful for all his friends and caregivers at Brookdale Valencia. He will be missed by all.
