George W. Treadwell

George W. Treadwell, 95, a resident of San Tan Valley, AZ passed away on November 4, 2024. He is survived by children, Paul E. Treadwell of Phoenix, AZ; Claudia M. Cooper of Bosque Farms, NM; Monica A. Treadwell of San Tan Valley, AZ; and Michael A. Treadwell (Peggy) of Round Rock, TX; grandchildren, Rande L. (Zachary) Ortiz, and Dominic A. and Austin J. Treadwell; great-grandchildren, Leyla, Amelia, Apollo, and Quinn Ortiz; and sister, Mary E. Patnode of Waterville, OH. George was preceded in death by his parents, George E. and Evelyn C. Treadwell; wife, Gloria; son, David M. Treadwell; and grandchild, Brian A. Alarid.

George was born in Rock Island, IL on November 23, 1928, and lived there until the family moved to Superior, WI in 1938. He attended college in Superior and transferred to and graduated from Marquette University's College of Engineering in 1952. He joined the Wisconsin National Guard in 1948, then, transferring to New Mexico National Guard in 1953. He retired as a Brigadier General after 40 years' of service in the Army National Guard. He also retired after 36 years from Sandia National Laboratories as a Member of the Technical Staff.

George was a kind and generous husband, father, and grandfather. He was very devout in his Catholic faith and never wavered.

A Rosary will be recited Wednesday, November 13, 2024, 5:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Lomas. Friends may visit one hour prior to the recitation of the Rosary. A Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 14, 2024, 8:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 2621 Vermont St. NE. Entombment will take place at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, following services. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Roadrunner Food Bank or Santa Maria De La Vid Norbertine Abbey.
