George Edward Shea

Shea, George E., age 77, A great believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, left us on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. George served in the USAF as E-4 sergeant after discharge he enrolled at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism earning a degree Master of Science in Journalism in 1974. He also held a degree Master of Arts. George taught at Rio Grande and La Cueva high schools and adjunct professor at UNM. He was greatly loved by his students. Over the years George and Nancy were involved with several charities helping the underprivileged. He and wife Nancy moved from Salem Massachusetts to Albuquerque in the early 1980's. He was a member of the Albuquerque Country Club where he loved to play Golf. He was great fan of Northwestern wildcats and loved baseball. He is survived by his loving life partner, Rita Ava Martinez; his brother, Dr. John Shea,and wife Patricia of Marblehead Mass; Brother, Attorney Gerald of Paris,France; Brother, Patrick Shea and wife Ilene of New Hampshire; and many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. He is predeceased by his wife, Nancy; father, John Anthony Shea and mother, Grace Shea (Derry). A Visitation and a Rosary will take place on Thursday, August 11, 2022, 6:00 p.m. followed by a Mass on Friday, August 12, 2022, 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 619 Copper Ave NW.
