George Sanchez

SANCHEZ, GEORGE L.Age 90, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, July 13, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Martha V. Sanchez of Albuquerque, NM, daughter, Veronica Bernal and husband Robert of Aurora, CO, son, Gerald Sanchez and wife Lori of Albuquerque. He is also survived by seven loving grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Mr. Sanchez was preceded in death by his son, George Sanchez Jr., father, Ben C. Sanchez, and mother, Rosa Sanchez. Mr. Sanchez served in the Pacific Theater in the U.S. Navy during WWII. George spent his career working for the State of New Mexico Highway Department from which he retired. During his retirement, he used to enjoy winning at the casino. A Rosary will be recited July 16, 2012, 7:00 p.m. at French - Lomas, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday, July 17th at 10:30 a.m. at French - Lomas with a reception to follow. Interment will take place later that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery along with United States Navy Honors. Pallbearers will be Christopher Bernal, Jessica Marie Schneider, Jonathan Bernal, Anthony Bernal, Joshua R. Sanchez, and Brittany A. Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Benny Miller, Larry Miller, Jason Miller, Michael London, and Phil Lucero. Friends may visit before the Rosary from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday.
