George Dolliver Rich, of Albuquerque, passed away December 6th, peacefully at home and surrounded by his family. He was born October 28, 1948 in Pampa, Texas to G.D. "Johnny" and Tonetta "Toni" Rich. He was raised in Lovington, New Mexico, and after college, he settled in Albuquerque. George was devoted to his family as a loving spouse, cherished father, devoted grandfather, selfless brother, and caring uncle. He was fiercely loyal to his wonderful friends. He was a successful business owner in real estate and construction for many years. George was an avid golfer and fisherman, and he loved to play cards. He passes on a legacy of empathy, compassion, thoughtfulness, generosity, hard work, and strong values. He will be missed tremendously. He is survived by his former wife, Shirley; daughters, Charlotte (Charlesly) Joseph and Sarah (Wesley) Rich-Jackson; grandchildren, Oliver, Emery, and Ashleigh Rich-Jackson and Alexander Joseph of Albuquerque and brother, Chris Rich and family of Denver. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Rich. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 13, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Ave. NE, Albuquerque, followed by a reception at the Albuquerque Country Club, 601 Laguna Blvd. SE. Memorial contributions may be made in George's name to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida, 33607.
