George W. Revels passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015. He was born in Spartanburg, SC on June 5, 1927 to George and Clelia Revels. He was raised in Chester, SC and entered the Navy for WWII and then the Air Force for the Korean Conflict. He was stationed in Albuquerque where he met and married Lorene Weaver. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories after 34 years. He and Lorene then enjoyed traveling the US in their RV with both the Sandia RV Club and the NM Chaparrals. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and amateur radio. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lorene Revels; his daughter, Beth Revels (George Sturgis); and grandchildren, Leisa Casey (David), and Jason Revels (Brooke); great grandchildren, Ryan and Matthew Casey, and Jacob and Joshua Revels. He is also survived by his brother, Douglas Revels. He was preceded in death by both of his sons, Jerry Revels (JoAnn), and Jeff Revels; his sisters, Eva Lynn, Virginia Worthy, Marie Pandolfino, Jeanne Taylor, Jewel (Bootsie) Collins. A service will be on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. Graveside service will be Monday, July 20, 2015 at 9:45 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
