George L. Maestas, 70, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, December 31, 2021.
He was born July 7, 1951 at Camp Irwin, San Bernadino County, California, and is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Neyda (Garcia) Maestas.
George graduated from Valley High School Class of 1969. As a teen he was employed by Safeway Stores as a grocery carry-out and continued employment with them in management positions until his retirement in 2011.
He was united in marriage to Lillian Tapia who survives. They reached their golden anniversary on October 9, 2021. He also leaves behind 4 children - Michelle and husband Anthony Mares, Denise and husband Ron Richardson, Eric Maestas and wife Bernadette and Steven Maestas. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren Victoria, Alexandria, Savannah and Olivia Mares, Jordan and Natalie Smith, Brianna, Brittany and Aiden Richardson, Eric Emmanuel Maestas and 2 great grandchildren Jorgio and Francesca Smith. He is also survived by 5 siblings Clara Meyer and husband Greg, Tom Maestas, Michael Maestas, Theresa Simoes and husband Anthony, Robert Maestas and wife Susan Wilson, several beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
George loved riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, camping, garage sales and the Dallas Cowboys. His greatest love was spending time with family and friends and was cherished by them all.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to French's Funeral Home on Lomas.
