George Eaton

EATON, George W., Jr.
Age 88, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012 in Albuquerque, NM. George was the first of three sons born to George W. Eaton, Sr. and Inez Roberson Eaton in Searcy, AR. He soon moved to Stamps, AR where he spent his childhood. After high school, George went on earn his Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. During World War II, George served with distinction as an officer in the US Navy Intelligence Corps, where he specialized in ordnance and earned his place of honor among our greatest generation. After his discharge, George joined Standard Oil Co. which was later acquired by Amoco Oil Co., which was affiliated with Gulf of Suez Petroleum Co., all of which were later purchased by British Petroleum. George worked for this company for over 36 years, serving in positions of increasing responsibility in West TX, Northern NM, Egypt, and Norway. In 1971, George married his devoted and loving wife, Adriana. In 1984, George retired to Albuquerque, NM. George is preceded in death by his parents, George and Inez (Roberson) Eaton; brother, Jim; brothers-in-law, Sobhi Guergues and Wadie Angelios; sister-in-law, Afifa Guergues; and niece, Sawsan Angelios. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Adriana; son, Andrew, his wife, Tammy and their children, Maya, Drew, and Layla; brother, John and his wife, Barbara; sisters-in-law, SueSue Guergues and Mary Ann Eaton; nephews, George, AW, and Emanuel Angelios, Nader Amin, and John Eaton; nieces, Hoda Angelios, Nadia Norvik, Ann Wilson, and Eva Yusef; and numerous grand-nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church, 1004 24th St SE, Rio Rancho, NM on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit French - Westside Chapel, Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for a time of viewing and visitation. We will forever cherish the special times we had with George, a caring, generous man and take solace in the knowledge that he has taken his place at the side of his Lord.
