George Bruce DeBlanc

George Bruce DeBlanc, of Albuquerque, NM passed away on June 15, 2021. He was born on January 4, 1935, in Chicago, IL. Bruce is survived by his wife of 58 years, E. Bernice DeBlanc; sons, Steven Bruce (Veronica) of Albuquerque, NM, and Brian George (Julie) of Spring Lake, MI; daughter, Diana Lynne of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Sharon Wallace, of Taber, Alberta, Canada; and five grandchildren, Ian, Adrian, Jennie, Emilie, and Claire.

Bruce attended college and medical school at UC Boulder. He and Bernice spent a newlywed year in San Francisco for Bruce's first year of residency, after which they moved to Denver where he finished his residency as an Ear Nose and Throat surgeon. They moved to Gallup, NM in 1967. He served in the United States Public Health Service for a full career at the Gallup Indian Medical Center, then opened a private practice at the Rehoboth/Cibola Christian Medical Center, retiring as a Captain at age 55 in 1990. Bruce and Bernice retired in Albuquerque, close to their children's growing families. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and skiing.

He will be missed.
