George Cardwell

George Len Cardwell, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1935, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 27, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Grace M. Cardwell; children Kathleen Ann Heigher and husband, Johnny, George "Mike" Cardwell, Kenneth W. Cardwell and partner, Donna, Linda Jean Thornburg and husband, Gene; nine grandchildren Jesse, Kimberly, and Jennifer Heigher, Megan, Jonathon and Luke Cardwell, Jacob, Joshua and Sean Thornburg; eight great-grandchildren Chris, Michael, Gabriel, Joseph, Daniel, Monet, Isaac, and Aliyah; sister Nell Ash; and brothers Tommy Joe Cardwell and wife, Sally and Henry L. Cardwell and wife, Barbara. George graduated from Albuquerque High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was in the 1st Pilotless Bomber Squadron. Mr. Cardwell owned and operated Property Development Company. He also worked as a projectionist and was a member of the I.A.T.S.E. Local 869. Cremation has taken place.
