Garth Lynn Torres Porragas

Garth Lynn Torres Porragas was born February 28, 1969 at 4:10 in the afternoon at the Los Alamos Medical Center. He leaves behind a large family that loves him and will greatly miss him.

He has two children, Samuel Lorenzo Torres Porragas (Samy) and Sabrina Lynn Torres Porragas (Bia), his parents Ella and Samuel Torres Porragas, an older sister, Carrie Torres Porragas, and a younger sister, Sabrina Zamora and her husband James. He has five nephews, Andrew, Brian, and Anthony Zamora, Hunter and Spencer Hanecak. He has three aunts, Selma Luna and her husband Frank, Conchita Sandoval and her husband Ray, and Sara Torres, two uncles, Marlin Martinez and Pablo Torres and his wife Eunice, and one great aunt, Maria Estella Sandoval. There are numerous cousins and their extended families. He is preceded in death by his wife, Bernadette Martinez Torres Porragas; his maternal grandparents, Federico and Anita Martinez; his paternal grandparents, Rodolfo and Eloisa Torres; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Garth was very smart, a quick learner.  He was skilled in everything he did. He was a great protector to those he loved and was always available to assist anyone in need. He helped with anything asked of him. Most of all he was a great father and family man, loving, supporting and guiding his children to adulthood.  Samy and Bia will tell you he was the best dad ever. He has now joined Bernadette and his grandparents who greatly loved him. He is in the loving arms of God. May God bless him, keep him close, and console the rest of us that must continue on without him.
