TURNER, GABRIELA PADILLAAge 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died on Sunday, October 28, 2012. She was born on March 24, 1932 in Gallup, NM. Gabriela is survived by her spouse, Edward Turner; daughter, S. Linda Turner of Port Angeles, WA; grandchildren, Eva Zafarano of Honolulu, HI, and Caleb Wilmarth of Port Townsend, WA; sisters, Jennie Esquivel of Albuquerque, Natalie Sanchez (Carlos) of Gallup, NM, Anna Fuchs of Baltimore, MD and Esther Florez of Los Angeles, CA; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her parents, Everardo and Adelaide Padilla of Gallup, NM; and brother, Anthony Padilla of Albuquerque. Gabriela was a payroll supervisor for the Bureau of Indian Affairs for 30 years. After retirement, she and Ed opened 3 different gift shops they ran for over 20 years in the Albuquerque area. October 31st would have been Gabriela and Ed's 50th Wedding Anniversary. Geba, as her family and friends called her, was dedicated to her faith, family and love of people and dancing, and most recently her senior center. Everyone that knew her remember her fondly because of her kindness, generosity, gentle spirit, and her genuine love and joy for her family and friends. The rosary will be recited Thursday, November 1, 2012, 7:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Westside, with visitation starting at 5:00 p.m. Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 2, 2012, 10:00 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave NW.
