Frederick " Freddy" Wood, age 17, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, was called to his eternal resting place on Sunday, August 25, 2019. He entered this world on August 16, 2002 in Dallas, TX, born to Bo Wood and Kat Fragua. He is survived by his mother, Kat Fragua; father, Bo Wood; brother, Harrison Wood; maternal grandmother, Helen Fragua (Frederick Pintz); paternal grandfather, James Wood (Dorris); paternal grandmother, Cindy Moore; aunt, Christine Rubylid (Jay); aunt, Theresa Dyess (Dave); uncle, Tony Fragua (Cathy); aunt, Mona Osterhoudt (Rob); aunt, Rebecca Upchurch (Dan) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides. Freddy was preceeded in death by his paternal step grandfather, Ken Moore, auntie, Darlene Fragua, and auntie, Marlene Gachupin.
Freddy and his family moved to Albuquerque from Dallas in the fall of 2004. He attended Chamiza Elementary School, Rio Middle School and Rio Rancho High School. Freddy started playing golf at the age of 8 with his 5-year-old brother, Harrison. Freddy loved anything to do with the outdoors. His favorite activities were working out, hiking, camping, kayaking and anything with the water. Freddy's love for his family and friends was undeniable. If he wasn't hanging out and having fun with his friends, he was with his brother Harrison. Freddy's favorite family vacation spots were West Virginia (with Grandpa Jim and family), Wildwood Lake in Long Island (with Grandma Helen and Grandpa Fred), visiting San Antonio, and Corpus Christi, TX with mom, dad and brother. We will miss his beautiful infectious smile, his amazing sense of humor and his love for his family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Anchor Point Church, 6751 Pasilla Road NE, Rio Rancho.
