Frederick Alan Wesemann was a dedicated husband, father, and our family’s rock. Fred passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020, due to pneumonia and complications. He was surrounded by his family and friends when he passed.
He was born to Mary and Fred Wesemann in Salina, KS, on January 17, 1954. He later moved to Sterling, CO. He was preceded in death by his sister and his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Wesemann; his son, Will Wesemann; and his brother, Tom Wesemann. Fred was always advocating for Will, and he was Nancy’s emotional lifeline and the families' rock.
He also leaves behind many cherished family members; his sisters-in-law, and their husbands, Mary and Paul, Sue and Sam; nieces, Janice, Stephanie and Alyssa; nephews, Steve, Zach, Chris, Liam, Rowan, and Alexander.
Fred attained a bachelor’s degree in audiology and worked in the hearing aid business with his dad. He also worked in sales, first in groceries and then in office supplies. Then he worked for the City of Albuquerque Gun Range and judged shooting competitions. Later he was a substitute teacher at Truman Middle School for about three years. Finally, after Will graduated from high school, Fred worked at home as Will’s care provider off and on, for nearly 10 years.
Fred enjoyed fishing, boating and camping with his family and friends. He loved spoiling his four dogs, Candy, Sadie, Shadow and Nicky. Later in life, he enjoyed conversing about his deep convictions on historical, political, and metaphysical issues, making and repairing jewelry, and eating out at Little Anita’s.
He will be missed.
