Frederick Mowrer

November 14, 1919 — March 3, 2013

THE HONORABLE FREDERICK M. "FRITZ" MOWRERAfter travelling his long road of life and having done it his way (believe me, it was his way), Fritz has arrived at the gates of heaven to be with his Lord and Savior. His longsuffering is over. Fritz died at the age of 93 on March 3, 2013. Fritz, having completed his long journey, is now with his beloved wife of 68 years, Evelyn Jane "Grammie Jane" who being reunited with him is speaking her mind. Fritz's beloved parents, Marvin and Bertha Mowrer predeceased him. Fritz was a twice decorated combat veteran of the Second World War, having served in the 4th Armored Division, Third Army. He was recalled to active duty during the Korean War. Fritz moved to Albuquerque in 1961 and served the great citizens of New Mexico as a judge for almost 30 years. He retired in 1994 from the District Court, Second Judicial District. Fritz is survived by three children: his son, Steven M. Mowrer and his wife Billie and their four children, Rachel and her husband Mike, A.J. and his wife Kellie, Jake and his wife Jennifer and Jessie Jane; his son, Fred Jr. and his wife Lisa Ann and their three children, Courtney, Chelsea and her husband Shane O'Neill, and Coulton; and his daughter, Lisa Louise whose beloved husband David Owen, having already traveled his life's road and now greets Fritz, and their children, Julie Garrison, Chad Garrison, David Owen, Cody Owen, and Kellie Owen. Fritz and Jane leave behind seven beloved great-grandchildren, who in his eyes could do no harm (take it from their parents). Rachel and Mike are the parents of Austin and Drew, A.J. and Kellie are the parents of Ainsley and Drew, and Jake and Jennifer are the parents of Dylan, Michael and Zach. He loved you with all his heart. Fritz will be sorely missed by all of us who depended on his great strength of character, his sense of honor and duty, his dry sense of humor and the deep love he shared with all of us until the end. May all of us honor his belief in treating all of God's children with respect, dignity and love. May God give us the strength to go forward on our chosen paths without his presence. We will surely miss him. We love you Dad/Grandpa. May God bless you and grant you eternal peace. Your suffering is finally over.Services will be held Sunday, March 10, 2013, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Judge Mowrer will be entombed at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico on Monday, March 11, 2013. Honorable pallbearers will be Steven M. Mowrer, Frederick M. Mowrer, A.J. Mowrer, Jake Mowrer, Shane O'Neill, Mike Hedgecoth, Chad Garrison, Coulton Mowrer, and David Owen. The family wishes to thank the care providers who made the end of Fritz's life much better.
