Frederick Hunger
August 15, 1942 — May 11, 2017
Frederick Hunger, 74, beloved husband, was called to his eternal resting place on May 11, 2017. He entered this world on August 15, 1942 in Newton, NJ, born to Frederick and Lois Hunger. He is survived by his wife, Leslie Hunger; mother, Lois Hunger; daughter, Heidi Chowning nee Hunger and husband, Steve (Corrales, NM); sister, Eileen Kusnirik nee Hunger and husband, Bob (Absecon, NJ); and numerous nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Herbert; and brother, Jim.
Fred was raised in Hackettstown, NJ and attended Hackettstown High School.
Frederick served honorably in the US Marine Corps. He also served as a volunteer firefighter with the Hackettstown, NJ Fire Dept, Hook and Ladder Company, for 14 years.
After moving to New Mexico in 1981 he became a 32nd degree Master Mason and Shriner, and a member of the Shrine Mounted Patrol. He also served on the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Posse for many years.
