Frederick Nelson "Fred" Bryant

d. March 3, 2016

Frederick Nelson Bryant, 77, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on March 3, 2016, at the home of his eldest daughter in Tucson, Arizona. Fred moved from Indiana to New Mexico with his parents George L. (Len) and Clara Bryant at the age of 9. He often talked about returning to Indiana to be near his large extended family, but the enchantment and lure of New Mexico captured his heart.
He proudly served in the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. Upon his return to Albuquerque he became a heavy equipment operator. Fred later learned to run a crane and spent the rest of his working days proudly operating cranes in many areas of the Southwest and California. When traveling with him, there were few places one could go, that he had not participated in some aspect of the construction of a golf course, highway, bridge, dam, commercial building, parking structure or pipeline. He was a lifelong member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union No. 953.
Fred was a good man who maintained lifelong friends. He loved his family, friends, operating his crane, motorcycles and travel. He was preceded in death by the mothers of his children, Nancy Busch and Catherine (Katy) Bryant. He is survived by his four children, Vanica Bryant Caswell of Tucson, AZ and spouse Dave Caswell, James Bryant of Bonners Ferry, ID and spouse Doreen Bryant, Kelly Bryant of Los Lunas, NM and boyfriend Anthony Garcia, and Karey Munoz of Albuquerque; six grandchildren, Adam Bryant, Aaron Bryant, Zachary Munoz, Ashley Munoz, Kaitlyn Munoz and Isabella Munoz. Fred is also survived by several aunts and many cousins residing in Indiana and surrounding states. As you leave us behind to dwell in the house of the lord, know that you are loved and missed. Semper Fi.
