Freddie Ray Walker of Albuquerque, NM age 87 passed away on February 4, 2025. Freddie was also known as "Ted" or Aunt Ted by many of her family. She was born on July 2, 1937, to Fred and Helen McKnight at their family home in Elsey, Missouri. After marrying her sweetheart on June 27, 1953, they lived in Wichita, Kansas where her husband, Sanford worked at Boeing. They were blessed with three daughters who were all born in Wichita, Kansas. They moved back to Missouri, after their youngest was born returning to their home area. The family moved to Springfield, Missouri in early 1960 where they lived there until 1975. Freddie was a homemaker and raised their daughters in Springfield while Sanford provided for them. His job took him on the road to many states working as a machinist for Taft Contracting Company installing newspaper printing presses. In 1974 he along with two others formed their own company, Masthead International located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The family moved with their youngest daughter to Albuquerque.
Freddie enjoyed bowling and bowled on several leagues both in Springfield and Albuquerque. She was quite a bowler and almost bowled a perfect game of all strikes during a tournament in Springfield. She enjoyed going to her grandkid's baseball, basketball, soccer games, gymnastics meets and could be seen at performances any of the grandchildren had. She was their biggest supporter. In later years, she loved doing jigsaw puzzles and always had one going on her table in the living room. Many people would stop by and would always comment or stay and put in a piece or two with her.
Freddie's family includes Cheryl Mitchell (Michael), Connie Snider (Kelly), and Marilyn Montoya (Amos). Grandchildren, Allen Shane, Lisa Shane (Cheryl) Andy Snider, Ashley Parnell, Bryan Snider (Connie), Victoria Montoya, Kristen Montoya (Marilyn). Great Grandchildren Jadon Shane, Culton Shane, Abigail Snider, Audrey Snider and Drew Snider, Caleb Montoya, and Noah Montoya. Great-Great Granddaughter Violet Carriere.
Her immediate family is brother Jack McKnight (Dianne), sisters Barbara Russell (Kenneth) and Lavinia Dodson (Kenneth). Numerous nieces and nephews who were so much a part of her life and whom she loved dearly.
Celebration of Life will be Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 10:30 at French's Funeral Home at 7121 Wyoming Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in her memory be made to the American Cancer Society. https://donate.cancer.org/
