Freddie Max Bumpass passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at his home in Albuquerque, NM. Freddie was born on May 23, 1945 in Lubbock, TX. He was the only child of A.C. and Billie Bumpass, who both preceded him in death. He graduated from Monterey High School in 1963. He received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University in 1968. Freddie served in the US Army Reserves from 1968 to 1974.
In 1968, Freddie relocated to Dallas, TX where he worked in the fashion jewelry and clothing industry as a wholesale salesman with a showroom in the Apparel Mart.
Freddie enjoyed travel, loved people, and admired nature and mountains. In 1976, he pursued his dream to travel the world and began his adventure in Katmandu, Nepal. He spent 21 days trekking in the Mount Everest region. Freddie traveled extensively in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Southeast Asia. He loved India and spent much time there.
Freddie returned to the USA in 1983 and went to work for the US Postal Service as a letter carrier. He retired in 2013 and moved from Lubbock to Albuquerque, NM. He was an avid golfer and joyfully golfed all over the country.
His blue eyes, quick wit, and loving heart will be remembered by all who knew him. It never took Freddie very long to make those around him smile and fall in love with him. May your memories of him put a smile on your face and bring warmth to your heart.
