Fred Jerome Fink

February 17, 1923 — July 11, 2016

Col. Fred J. Fink, NMANG/USAF (Ret.) was cleared for his final takeoff on July 11, 2016 to touch the face of God and hold his beloved Jinx again. He was born in Chicago, IL on February 17, 1923 to Jean and John Fink, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Harriet Fink-Wineburgh; and his beautiful bride, Dorothy "Jinx" Fink, his good luck charm.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbi Fink-Beverly; granddaughter, Kristin Martin and husband Mark; daughter, Jan Mock and husband Don; grandson, Cody Mock and wife Casandra; grandson, Jason Mock and wife Dawn; great-grandchildren, Darren, Angel, Mig, Jordan, Desiree, Devvon, Justen; and great-granddog, Chili. He had many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members as well as many close family-friends.
Fred enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in November 1942, which was the start of an illustrious military career during which he fearlessly served his country in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam before "being put out to pasture" in February 1978. He was awarded numerous honors and made countless lifelong friendships with his comrades.
Services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming with a reception to follow at the Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown at 2:30 p.m. Fred and Jinx will then spend eternity together at their treasured El Vado Lake.
