Franklin Brett Barker, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1996 and from 1951 - 1954, died April 11, 2016. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Martha L. Barker of Albuquerque, and by his parents, Ballard B. Barker and Jenny Barker. He is survived by his step-daughter, Judith A. Oliver and her husband Thomas of St. Paul, MN.
Frank was born in Shawnee, OK and graduated from the University of Oklahoma, later receiving his doctorate in chemistry from the University of New Mexico. He worked on the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos, NM in the 1940s and went on to work briefly for the US Geological Survey in Denver. The remainder of his career was spent at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory.
He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park with his wife Martha.
