Frank Whiston

Frank R. Whiston, 81 passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 12, 2023. He was born in Grove City, PA and later moved to Albuquerque. Frank served in the US Army and was honorably discharged as a Tech Sargent. He worked at Sandia National Laboratories for 33 years until his retirement in 2001. There were many boating trips as well as 4-wheeling in his 1971 Bronco. Frank was also an avid enduro motorcyclist exploring the mountains every chance he got.

Frank enjoyed traveling with his wife in retirement, where he made many friends along the way. He was a member of the New Mexico 4 wheelers and led many back country trips in NM, Colorado, Utah and Arizona.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank K. and Mary E. Whiston. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna; son Frank and wife Beth; stepdaughter Karen and husband Mike; stepson Bob and wife Sherree; stepdaughter Lynda and husband Tom; sister Lynn and husband Ken; brother Don; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.

A casual Reception in his honor will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH- Lomas. He will be buried at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
