Frank "Hoby" Holbrook Pulford passed away peacefully on February 26, 2025, in Scottsdale, Arizona, doing what he loved - watching spring training baseball games with his wife and golfing with his close friends. Born July 1, 1954, in Elmira, New York, to James Baldwin Pulford and Mary Catherine (Holbrook) Pulford, Hoby lived a life defined by his passions, relationships, and boundless enthusiasm.
A graduate of St. John Fisher College, Hoby built a distinguished career in the waterworks industry, rising to Vice President at Mueller before becoming CFO and Partner at Nashville Lumber. He was known for his sharp mind, integrity, and leadership.
An avid runner, Hoby competed in marathons nationwide, often placing in his age group. A passionate golfer, he played on renowned courses worldwide, making multiple trips to St. Andrews in Scotland.
Hoby loved music, sharing his enthusiasm for The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen with his children and grandson. He was a devoted sports fan, puzzle enthusiast, and an engaging conversationalist who approached life with intellectual curiosity and warmth.
Above all, family was his greatest joy. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Simms Pulford; his children, Austin (Marian) and Broox (Stefany), from his marriage to Jeanetta Gee-Byrd; and Erin (Caleb), with his wife Rebecca; grandson Frankie; siblings Ellen Pulford Doherty and Shawn Pulford; and many cherished relatives and friends.
A lifelong Catholic, Hoby's faith was a source of strength. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Catherine, and his brother, Christopher.
A visitation will be held at 9:30 am with a Mass to follow at 10:00 am on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Church of the Incarnation, 2309 Monterrey Road NE, Rio Rancho, NM 87144. A reception will follow at the church. A graveside will take place at 2:00 pm at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, New Mexico, 87501.
