Frank Leon Gutierrez went home to be with the Lord on September 16, 2012. He was 86 years old. After serving in the US Navy in the Pacific theater in WWII, Frank worked first as a machinist and then as Supervising Equipment Engineer in the Concentrated Work Equipment Division for the entire Santa Fe Railroad system until his retirement. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and neighbor. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Trini Vigil Gutierrez; his brother and best friend, Dr. Eloy R. Gutierrez and wife Cecelia; his children, Frank M. Gutierrez and his wife Kathleen of Las Cruces, Kathy Gutierrez of Albuquerque, and Carol MacIvor and her husband Rob of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, Stacy Pharies of Lubbock, TX, Jean McDaniel of Windsor, CO, Robyn MacIvor of Colorado Springs, CO, and Duncan MacIvor of Albuquerque. He dearly loved his great-grandchildren, Chad and Ryan Pharies, and Mia and Cole McDaniel. He was always ready to help anyone who needed him. Frank will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Queen of Heaven Church, 5300 Claremont NE. Burial will take place at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 with military honors at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
