Age 89, a WWII Army and Merchant Marine Veteran, born in DelAgua, CO, and later a resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with our Lord, Thursday, April 18, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Edwina Gutierrez; son, Pete (Ernie) and wife, Maxine Gutierrez; daughter, Margaret and husband, Jeff Wenker; son, Freddie and wife, Maria Gutierrez; Mother-in-law Maria Metzgar (105 yrs old); brother and sister, Ray and Jennie Gutierrez; grandchildren, Renee, Victor, Melanie, Valerie, Martin, Nicole, Angel and Jessica; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his mother and father, Frank and Annie Gutierrez Sr.; brother Pete, who was KIA in WWII. Frank was a founding member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Frank worked at Santa Fe Railroad, ACF, and retired from General Electric after thirty five years. He was most loved for his sense of humor. He loved to dance and valued family gatherings. Special thanks to VA home care nurse, Judy Velasquez and the VA Palliative Care Staff. Rosary will be recited by granddaughters, Melanie and Nicole, Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 25, 2013, 9:30 a.m. also at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW, Albuquerque. Celebrant will be Rev. Joel P. Garner. Interment will take place immediately following at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Wenker, Victor Gutierrez, Andre Telles, Nathan Jaramillo, Matthew Gonzales, Donald Olona. Honorary Pallbearers will be Martin Gutierrez and Benjamin Telles.
