Frank J. Benavidez, age 72, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, joined his mother, Ramona Benavidez, in heaven on Monday, August 28, 2017. His wife, Frances, son, John and wife, Gina, daughter, Danette and husband, Ryan Ortega, Sr., son, Francisco, grandson, Raymond Benavidez, and granddaughter, Ramona Ortega were at his bedside.
He was a proud grandfather of eight and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived one brother, Herman Benavidez, Sr. and wife, Velma; sisters, Petrita and husband, Orlando Garcia, Priscilla and husband, Danny Sanchez, and youngest sister, Geraldine Abeyta. He is the Godfather of eight; several nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Frank was a solid man well known for his prodigious carpentry work. He favored oak wood and shall be buried in an oak casket.
Services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH – University, with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. Pallbearers will be Raymond Benavidez, Johnathon Benavidez, Herman Benavidez, Jr, Joseph Garcia, Michael Abeyta, Jr., and Herman Chavez, Jr. Honorary Pallbearer will be Isaac Benavidez.
