Francisco "Kiko" Gonzales

Passed from this life on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at his home. Francisco was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen Gonzales; and his son, Malcom Gonzales. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Gonzales Pimentel and her husband, Robert A. Pimentel; son, Maurice F. Gonzales; daughter, Elaine C. Gonzales; daughter, Emily C. Lucero and her husband, John Lucero. Francisco is also survived by his brothers,Filomeno Gonzales, Tony Gonzales and his wife, Anita, Max Gonzales and his wife, Priscilla; and sister, Gloria Salazar and her husband, Ronald; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandson, Lawrence Gonzales; granddaughters, Angela Lucero, Catherine Lucero, Marie Lucero; great granddaughter, Shiloh Gonzales; and great-great grandson, Nathaniel Bowman. Francisco was born in Magdalena, NM to Antonio and Tibercia Gonzales and moved to Albuquerque with his family as a young boy. During World War II, Francisco served in the US Navy on mine sweepers (the USS Pioneer and the USS Competent) in the Asiatic-Pacific and earned a Victory Medal. He worked 45 years for the Santa Fe Railroad as a master machinist. Francisco was a hard worker with a big heart, an easy going nature, and a friendly smile. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, eating a good meal, and listening to guitar music. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will always remain in our hearts. The Rosary will be recited Thursday, September 22, 2016, 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 23, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Interment will follow the Mass at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery on Edith NE.
