Francis V. "Frank" Manning, age 69, a resident of Placitas, NM for over seven years, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl De Los Reyes; brother, Louis Michael Manning; and numerous other relatives and friends. Frank was born in 1948 in Greenbelt, MD and graduated from Monmouth College with his B.A. in Mathematics and the University of Houston with his MBA in Finance and Management Info Systems. He moved to New Mexico from Colorado in 2002 and went to work for the State of New Mexico Human Services Department. At the time of his death he was working for Bernalillo County. He was passionate about volunteering for Hospice Advantage, now part of Compassus where he was named Volunteer of the Year for 2015. Frank was also an avid songwriter and was very proud that one of his songs was used in the movie, "Louis Tikas and the Ludlow Massacre"' and was also featured on You-tube and was voted Best Folk Song in 2002. He also taught project management, for Harrisburg University part-time. Frank had his own kind of humor, loved people, and was a lifelong learner. He was very thoughtful and generous, always willing to do anything for anyone. He was a devoted husband and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Friends may visit Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until the Funeral Service, 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frank's name to Hospice Compassus, 4801 Lang Ave NE Suite 100, Albuquerque, NM 87109, or Veterans for Peace, www.veteransforpeace.org .
