Frances V. Martinez

Frances V. Martinez, Dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend went on to meet our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

She was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico to parents Roman Trujillo and Dorothy (Babcock) Trujillo. She attended Santa Fe schools and then advanced to the study of nursing.

She was married to Edward Anthony Martinez of Springer, NM. After marriage, they settled in El Paso, TX for over 40 years where they raised their son and daughter, Frank, and Eva. In 2001, Edward passed away, but Fran stayed in El Paso, near her son. She also lived with her daughter, Eva, in South Carolina for some years. In 2018, Fran moved to the Rio Rancho, NM area to be close to most of her grandchildren.

She served as a private duty nurse for 15 plus years in El Paso, TX and worked as a school nurse for the Ysleta Independent School District for some years as well. She eventually worked for the El Paso Independent School District, where she retired.

She was a long-time member of 'Women of the Moose International/Moose Charities'. She reached the highest level of 'Senior Regent'. She was known for her creativity and skills with sewing and crafts, and for her wonderful handmade tamales and tortillas.

She enjoyed walking and took water aerobics for several years. She was also a fan of games, bingo, 'coffee talk' with her friends, and of course spending time with family.

Survived by her son, Frank V. Martinez of El Paso, TX (widowed), and daughter, Eva Jean Martinez-Beaty of Lexington, SC (Charlie Beaty).

She is also survived by her brothers, Joe Trujillo, and Albert Trujillo; and sisters, Romie Sanchez, Lucy Vigil, and Agnes Armijo; her grandchildren, Therese Cervera (Patrick), Erica Roybal (Josh), Cynthia Hole (Jason), and Cameron Edward Beaty; great-grandchildren, Mariyah Martinez, Jalicia Cervera, Elijah Cervera, Makenzie Thomas, Jordan Ornelas, Mary Roybal and Scarlett Roybal; and great-great grandchild, Miah Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Martinez; her parents, Roman Trujillo, and Dorothy B. Trujillo; brother, Lawrence Trujillo; sisters, Tessie Sullens, Mary Ann Waterman, Maida Apodaca, Mary Rubi, and Rose Donahue; granddaughter, Francesca H. Martinez; and daughter-in-law, Laura Martinez.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH - Westside.
Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. 501 N. Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501.
Both the Service and Interment will be led by Father Ed Langley.
