Floyd A. Smith (A Smith called Floyd)
On Feb 16, 2016 Floyd passed away at home in Albuquerque after a 3-year battle with cancer. Floyd was a loving father and was surrounded by his family when he died. He was 88 years old. Floyd spent his career as a civil engineer and homebuilder, but his passion was playing the guitar in a country western band in Arizona. Floyd was honorably discharged from the US Navy in 1946 and was a disabled vet. To all his musical friends in Mesa and Overgaard Arizona: In memory of "A Smith Named Floyd" please pay tribute to him with his favorite song, "Keys in the Mail Box". Thank you for being such an important part of his life! Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; Violet and Irvin Smith and siblings; John Smith, Irene Bacas and Velma Hitti. He is survived by daughters: Shari Smith Bigsby, Shawna Smith Hickerson, and DeLane Smith Luna and husbands: Bill, Ken and Andy; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
