Florence Cornell

Age 99, a resident of Los Ranchos, NM since 2000, died on Sunday, October 28, 2012. Florence grew up in NYC and was a schoolteacher there for over 25 years. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Children: Robert Cornell, Lolly Kersey and partner James Fitzpatrick, Alice and husband David Bris, David Cornell and wife Rosemary Granfield, Wilda and husband Tim McDonough; grandchildren: Elizabeth Cornell and husband Scott Berry, Rob and wife Julie Cornell, Liane and husband Roy Thakur, Christopher and wife Catie Kersey, Rachel Bris, Shad and wife Leigh Bris, Ryan McDonough, Tara McDonough, Daniel and wife Hannah Granfield; great-grandchildren: Amber Cornell. Amanda Cornell, Rory Granfield, Logan Granfield, Ryan Kersey, Ellie Kersey, Stella Bris. Florence was preceded in death by her beloved husband Nathan Cornell.Florence had an optimistic outlook on life that was an inspiration to many. She was a woman of faith whose life was deeply rooted in prayer. She prayed daily for family, friends and those in need. She loved Bible Study and discussion, and was a faithful member of the Heights First Church of the Nazarene. Florence kept up a lively correspondence with family and friends, always remembering birthdays and special occasions. She loved to travel and visited Europe, the Middle East, Alaska and China. Her family wishes to express their thanks to her devoted Caregivers and to Hospice.Visitation will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 from 4 - 6 PM at FRENCH - Wyoming. The Funeral Service will be held Sunday, November 4, 2012 at 6 PM at Heights First Church of the Nazarene on the corner of Paseo Del Norte & Barstow. Visitation with the family will start at 5:30 PM.
