Flora Soncrant passed away on April 13, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM at the wonderful age of 101.
She was born November 15, 1914 in Monroe, MI to Flora and Oliver Green. She spent her youth in MI with her two brothers, Burton and Oliver. She met the love of her life Lester Soncrant in
Monroe, MI and after leading him on a merry chase, they married on February 26, 1942. They had one daughter, Linda Elaine Neville-Hoover and a great many adventures over the 58 years they were married including but not limited to serving in World War II, running a boarding house, working for the Forest Service and United Press and many others.
Flora worked for United Press/Dataco for many many years retiring from there twice. She gained many skills from the years of work but none of which delighted her grandchildren and great grandchildren so much as her ability to say her ABCs backwards. Her retirement was filled with morning coffee at McDonald's, assisting her grandkids with learning their spelling words, gardening, word searches, a mean dominoes game and reading. She was a dedicated church member of both the Nazarene and Methodist churches.
She is preceded by her daughter, Linda; husband, Lester; brothers, Burton and Ollie; and parents; Flora and Oliver. She is survived by her grandson, Paul Wesson, his wife Candice and their son George; her granddaughter, Tiffany Russell, her husband George and their children Josh and Sara; and her granddaughter, Kristina Neville, her husband Nathan Bosworth and their children Jack and Addisyn; along with her nieces, Becky Copenhaver and Beverly Lutz; and her nephew, Jim Green.
We want to thank Blas Urquidez, Nancy Robbins, Jean McLeod, and Pam Rioux for everything they have done to help Grandma and take care of her when we couldn't be here to do it. We are so blessed to have you all as part of our family!
