Fern Gabriel

Fern D. Gabriel died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the age of 91. Born to Italian immigrant parents, Fern grew up in Cleveland, OH where she met her childhood sweetheart C.M. “Gabe” Gabriel. They were married in 1945 and moved to Albuquerque in 1948.
She is survived by her son, Jim; granddaughter, Kari; daughters, Debra and Terry Lynn; and brothers, Nick and Paul Bontempi. She was preceded in death by her precious parents, Vincenzo and Fortuna Bontempi; her beloved husband of 47 years, Gabe; her daughter-in-law, Linda; and her sisters, Mary Pignatiello and Terry Graziano.
Fern was a loving wife and mother and a spectacular cook, who devoted most of her time and energy to her family. She enjoyed reading, dancing, playing bridge and bowling. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. She had a tender heart towards children and animals.
Rosary will be recited Wednesday, June 7, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Mass of Remembrance will follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please arrange for memorial Masses to be celebrated for her sweet repose.
