BIOGRAPHY FOR LATE Eviter Hiack Ngondihiack
Eviter was born on October 28th, 1992 to Madam Agnes Itale Nwalipenja and Mr. Roger Hiack in Buea, South West Region of Cameroon. She grew up in her maternal village of Bongongo 1, Buea, Douala and Kumba where she attended primary school through university where she earned a degree in Management.
Professional life
Between 2010 and 2017, she worked at Media Plus an advertisement and outsourcing company in Douala, Cameroon. Her interest in humanitarian work inspired her to move to Kumba where she volunteered with an NGO called the HIV PREVENTION NETWORK CAMEROON (HIVPREC). This made her to be exposed to socially vulnerable people. Thus, further motivating her to travel out of the country to study and gain more knowledge and experience to continue helping vulnerable people.
Family life.
She was born about 12 years after her elder sister. From birth, she indicated a lot of friendliness and maturity. She was the "shushu" of the house. She was loved by all as a baby. From three weeks, she refused her mother's breast milk.
When she was 5months old, her mother was transferred to Bafoussam. Her grandmother and great grandmother decided to take her since her mother was going to a strange place, she became the pet of the house and had this position with no rival. Everybody in the family and the neighborhood, loved her. She was very loved and much looked after. She grew up in wisdom and intelligence. She didn't behave like children of her age from her action. She behaved in a mature way and was a friend to all. When she grew up, she was hard working, knew how to cook, do house chores. She was serviceable, obedient always laughs but they gave her a name "mami room" because she became very reserved. She liked spending time alone watching TV or reading her bible and novels. She could spend 24 hours a day in her room
As she grew up, she loved giving to others and to those in need. In fact, she was a philanthropist. She was so kind, loving and compassionate.
Social life
She was an adept member to her Baptist High School Kumba ex-students association. Even after travelling she participated and was updated in the association's activities. She was very popular among her school mates and kept in touch with many of them. She kept a good relationship with them and was like a bridge to link some of her friends.
Life in the United States
Eviter immigrated to the United States in 2017 with the goal of becoming a nurse at Elgin Community College, Illinois and eventually CNM, New Mexico. In 2020, she moved to New Mexico to be with her elder sister Ms. Laureta Disue epse Muma whereby she made a lot of friends and family. Her broad smile, entertaining personality as exemplified in her dance moves during social gatherings and those who visited at their home is a testimony of why she was greatly loved by the people of this community. As we all know, Eviter was also a member of the Cameroonians in New Mexico (Cam-NM) Association where her last public participation was when she flaunted herself with pride on the day of their uniform launch in Santa Fe during their end of year party in December 2023. Eviter will not relent to preach the word of God to her friends or engage in meaningful political debates.
Religious life
She was a devoted Christian. As a child, she started attending "Sunday School" at the Presbyterian Church Bongongo I Barombi, Ndian Division and later became a member of the Young Presbyterian Movement (YP). When she went to secondary school, she continued being regular in church activities through the denominations organized in school (Baptist High School Kumba). As an adult, wherever she travelled, she always identified with a congregation and worshipped there on Sundays. She was very prayerful and ensured she prayed for her family, friends, and everyone. No wonder she was killed through a car accident while returning from church on that faithful day Sunday the 12th, of February 2023. She leaves behind her great grand aunt, her grandmothers, sisters, aunts, uncles. nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and a host of friends to mourn her.
To conclude, the family in particular and the community at large do wish her a safe journey to her creator as it is believed her mission on earth has been fulfilled.
Adieu Ngondihiack, for sure we will meet again and please do continue to remember those you have left behind. Thank you for all for mourning with us.
