Everett Keso

Everett Keso passed away at the age of 90 on Friday, July 9, 2021. He was born in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Everett joined the U.S. Army at a young age and spent two years serving in Germany. He then joined the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed in Albuquerque. Here he met his wife, Helen Cole and they continued to make their home in Albuquerque. They were married for 69 years.

Everett pursued a career in the insurance industry for 42 years where he was district manager for Globe Life and United American Insurance Company. He received numerous honors including 13 Manager of the Year awards, and he was selected as Manager of the Decade. Everett is in the Hall of Fame at United American because year after year his office in NM was always one of the top producing offices. He trained many people that became top producers and managers. He loved his career.
He had a great love for fishing and hunting. He had an amazing ability to catch fish and kept the home well supplied with crappie filets, which was his favorite to catch and eat. He also had incredible skills in hunting and downed many trophy bucks keeping the home well supplied with venison.

In addition, he had a great passion for the Jemez Mountains, where he and his wife owned the old Tent Rock Resort Ranch in Cochiti Canyon. They spent 30 years at Tent Rock on summer weekends amongst the giant fur, pine, spruce, and aspen trees and a cheerful stream that ran through the property. The property included eight old original, hand-made log cabins that he loved working on to preserve and restore to livable conditions. Sadly, in 2011 the Los Conchas fire destroyed it all and so Everett spent the remaining years enjoying the outdoors at a smaller property they owned in the Jemez Mountains near Cuba, NM. Everett was one of eight children and has so many family members in Wisconsin. He loved his monthlong fishing trips which included seeing his family and wonderful memories. Everett also had great enthusiasm for gardening, and he spent much time at home in the garden growing vegetables and blackberries. Everett was a believer in Christ and was a prayer warrior. He had a passion for praying for his family and friends. One defining characteristic about Everett was his strong sense of humor. He had an uncanny ability to make people smile and laugh and simply feel good. He touched countless people with his one-of-a-kind personality.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; three children, Roxanne Hennig, Dan Keso, and Len Keso and wife, Michelle; grandchildren, Tamara Langwell and husband, Chris, Nathan Keso and wife, Hannah, and Larae Keso; and great-grandson, Reid Langwell.
