Evelyn L. Stanage

Evelyn L. Stanage passed away on October 31, 2018 after a short illness. She was 93 years old and had been cared for at home by many loving caregivers. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy P. Stanage, Sr.; her daughter, Shirley Donovan, and Shirley’s husband, Mike.

Evelyn moved to New Mexico at 3 years old when her father became a high school math teacher in Los Lunas, NM. After they moved to Albuquerque and purchased Nob Hill Motel, Evelyn attended Albuquerque High School and met her husband to be, Billy Stanage. They married in 1942 and were owners of Valley Welders Supply Co. for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Stanage Simmons and husband, Gary Simmons; son, Billy Stanage, Jr, his wife, Tiffani and their daughter, Lauren; Granddaughter, Mindy Sanderson and husband, Raybon, sons, Ray and Julien, and daughter, Ryan; and Granddaughter, Kristy Kling and husband, Brandon, and daughters, Kassidy and Kaylin and great-granddaughter, Sarah Kunze of Pennsylvania. Evelyn touched many lives with her wit, experiences, and stories and will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH-Lomas, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. also at FRENCH-Lomas. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
